Retired Management Staff Association (RMSA) BRISTOL

BAE SYSTEMS. AIRBUS & DEVOLVED COMPANIES

The RMSA came into being in 1980 and to date has over 500 members.

In 1995 the first elections were held for the Pensioner Consultative Committee (PCC). This led to the election of area committees; our area in the West Country being Area 8. We have met on a regular basis together with The Filton Retired Employees and Plymouth BAPPA since that time at various venues. We currently meet at a venue as near to the mid-point of the various associations; currently in the Tiverton area near Taunton.

In 2005 the composition of Area 8 changed quite extensively.

Due to the Company having acquired Royal Ordnance (RO) and what was formerly Marconi (Now identified as 2000 Plan). Representatives of these organisations from within the Area 8 catchments now meet with us at our quarterly meetings. This amalgamation has extended to what was the PCC; now known as the Joint Pensioners Committee (JPC). The Area 8 JPC Representatives are: -

Peter Aze & David Moakes -      Main Scheme

Frank Spencer -                        Royal Ordnance

John Porter & Jim Pearce -         2000 Plan

The RMSA enjoy various outings in the course of a year, normally comprising spring and summer days out and a short break in October. We have an excellent and very popular Annual Dinner, normally late in December.

We issue three hard copy Newsletters a year; where possible keeping members in touch with the pension scene and other items of concern to pensioners. The Newsletter also contains items of interest from various contributors together with photographs...All of which can be viewed on this website.

We would recommend eligible pensioners to join and enjoy the advantages of membership of this active and thriving organization. Membership is currently only £2/annum.

Our membership secretary - John Poad, or our Chairman - Frank Webb can be contacted at the addresses given on our printed newsletter or alternatively you can e-mail either at
